Squarespace Templates for Cleaning Businesses: A Quote-First Buyer's Guide
The short answer: A cleaning website is judged on a phone, in about ten minutes, against two other cleaners open in other tabs. It has to answer four things fast — exactly what you clean, roughly what it costs, whether you are insured and vetted, and how quickly someone can book. Choose the template that already ships those four pages. Aesthetics are the easiest thing to change in Squarespace 7.1; page architecture is the hardest.
This is a cluster hub. Four cleaning business types are scored below, and four companion guides go deeper on the parts that decide whether an enquiry actually arrives.
Which kind of cleaning business are you?
Four more posts in this cluster take one problem each: local search and service areas.
The five things a cleaning website has to carry
Before any template comparison, this is the checklist. Every one of these is a page or a block, not a design preference.
Speed matters more here than in most trades because the visit is usually mobile and often urgent — a landlord with a check-out tomorrow, an office manager whose contractor cancelled. Across 54 Squareko-built client sites measured in August 2026 (Playwright/Chromium lab test, cloud datacentre, unthrottled, single run per site, load-only CLS — lab data, not field data), median mobile LCP was 2.01s with 74% under Google's 2.5s "good" threshold. That is the band a cleaning site should be aiming at, and it is achievable on Squarespace 7.1 provided you compress images before upload rather than after.
How these Squarespace cleaning templates were scored
This is an editorial rubric, not a lab measurement. It is applied identically to every template so the scores are comparable, and it is published so you can disagree with the weighting rather than guess at it.
Five criteria, each scored 1–5, maximum 25:
Not scored: star ratings, review counts and "trusted by" figures. Those are unverifiable from outside the shop publishing them, and a cleaning business making a several-hundred-pound decision deserves better than an unsourced average.
Squarespace templates for residential cleaning businesses
A residential cleaning site is a trust document. The buyer is letting an unknown person into their home, usually while they are at work, usually on a repeating schedule. Price matters, but it loses to trust every time — which is why the About page, the named staff, the insurance statement and the "what if something breaks" answer earn their space.
Cleanko — best overall for a residential cleaning business
Score: 22/25. Cleanko is the only template in the Squareko range built specifically for a cleaning service, and it is the page set rather than the styling that justifies the pick. Twelve pages: Home, Home 2, About, Services, Blog, Portfolio, Contact Us, FAQs, Pricing, Service Details, 404 and a Style Guide.
Three of those pages are the ones cleaning companies normally have to build from nothing. The Pricing page ships as a three-tier layout with a "what's included" list per tier and a quote CTA on each — genuinely unusual in this trade, where most sites hide the number. The Service Details page is a full single-service layout with a scope breakdown and an optional add-ons section, which is where you write what a deep clean does and does not cover. The Portfolio page is structured as job types rather than as a gallery — office transformation, home deep clean, move-in/move-out, Airbnb turnover, post-construction dust removal, carpet and upholstery — which maps directly onto how cleaning work is actually sold.
The FAQs page is built with Squarespace's native Accordion block, which renders server-side in 7.1, so the question and answer text is crawlable rather than hidden behind JavaScript.
You can walk the whole page set on the Cleanko demo before deciding.
Page-set fit 5, quote or booking path 3, published pricing support 5, service depth 5, cost over site life 4.
Worst for: anyone expecting the enquiry form to be ready. The Contact Us page on Cleanko ships a standard four-field form — Name, Email, Subject, Message. That collects an email address, not a job. Rebuilding it as a qualifying quote form is an hour's work in Squarespace's form builder and it is the highest-return hour you will spend on the site. The companion post on booking flows covers exactly which fields to use.
Relief — best for a cleaner selling packages rather than jobs
Score: 18/25. Relief is written for therapists and wellness coaches, eleven pages with a Pricing page and an FAQs page already built. The relevance is structural: it is designed around recurring appointments sold as packages, which is closer to a weekly domestic round than to a one-off deep clean.
Page-set fit 3, quote or booking path 3, published pricing support 5, service depth 3, cost over site life 4.
Worst for: anything visual. Relief has no portfolio or gallery, so before-and-after work has nowhere to live. If proof of result is part of your pitch, this is the wrong starting point.
Squarespace templates for commercial and office cleaning contractors
Commercial cleaning is a procurement purchase, not an emotional one. The reader is a facilities manager, an office manager or a landlord, and they are checking three things: can you service a site of this size, are your insurances and accreditations current, and can you produce a specification and a price without three meetings.
That changes the page set. Named staff photographs matter less. A service specification, sector pages, accreditations and a case study matter more. Published per-visit pricing usually makes no sense at all, because commercial work is priced per square metre, per hour or per contract — so the job of the site is to get to a site survey quickly, not to publish a number.
BRIX Construction — best for contract and specification-led cleaning
Score: 17/25. BRIX Construction is a thirteen-page construction template with a Projects section, individual Service Details pages and an FAQs page. Its structure is closer to a commercial cleaning contractor's than any cleaning-branded template: projects rather than testimonials, specification rather than price list, and a page pattern that repeats per service.
Page-set fit 4, quote or booking path 3, published pricing support 1, service depth 5, cost over site life 3.
Worst for: small residential cleaners. BRIX Construction reads as heavy and industrial, which is exactly wrong when the buyer is a homeowner deciding whether to trust you with a key.
Note that the published Live Demo link for BRIX Construction currently returns HTTP 401 because the password parameter is missing from the URL. Ask before you buy rather than assuming the demo is down.
Click Crafter — best for a mixed residential and commercial operation
Score: 16/25. Click Crafter is a twelve-page agency and service-business template with a Portfolio, a Gallery, a Blog and a Freebie page. For a cleaning company running both domestic rounds and commercial contracts, its generic service structure adapts in both directions without forcing either.
The Freebie page has a real use here that is easy to miss: an office cleaning specification checklist or a move-out cleaning checklist is the standard lead magnet in this trade, and Click Crafter ships the page for it.
Page-set fit 4, quote or booking path 3, published pricing support 1, service depth 4, cost over site life 4.
Worst for: anyone who wants published pricing. Click Crafter has no pricing page, so tiers have to be built from sections.
Squarespace templates for specialist cleaners
Carpet cleaning, window cleaning, post-construction cleaning, oven cleaning, gutter clearing and short-let turnover are all sold on proof of result rather than on relationship. The buyer usually has one specific problem and wants to see the same problem solved before.
Two structural requirements follow. First, before-and-after imagery needs a home that scales — not a hero and three thumbnails. Second, each specialism needs its own page, because "carpet cleaning" and "window cleaning" are separate searches with separate intent, and a single combined Services page ranks for neither properly.
Cleanko scores highest here too, on the same 22/25, for the same reason: its Portfolio page is organised by job type and its Service Details page is a repeatable per-service layout. Duplicate that page once per specialism and you have the structure without building it.
WeDecorefy scores 15/25 and is the alternative worth knowing about. At fifteen pages it is the largest template in the Squareko range, with Projects, individual Project Details pages, a Gallery and a Team page. If you run five distinct specialisms and want a full detail page for each with its own gallery, its repeatable Project Details pattern saves real time. It loses points on cost over site life — fifteen pages is a lot of site to maintain for a two-van operation.
Page-set fit 4, quote or booking path 3, published pricing support 1, service depth 5, cost over site life 2.
Worst for: single-specialism cleaners. If you only do carpets, WeDecorefy is fourteen pages of overhead around one service.
Squarespace templates for cleaning franchises and multi-location operators
A franchise site has a different problem: one brand, many territories, and a need for location pages that are genuinely distinct rather than the same paragraph with the town name swapped. Google treats near-duplicate location pages as thin content, and a franchise site is the easiest place in this trade to generate fifty of them by accident.
WeDecorefy (15 pages) and Click Crafter (12 pages) are the two practical starting points, because both ship a repeatable detail-page pattern you can turn into location pages. Neither ships location pages as such — no template in any shop does, because the page count depends entirely on how many territories you run.
The harder half of this problem is editorial, not structural: what actually differentiates a location page. Local staff, local case studies, local pricing where it varies, and the specific neighbourhoods covered. That is covered properly in the local service business guide in this cluster, and in more depth in our Squarespace local SEO guide.
Should a cleaning company publish its prices?
This is the decision that determines whether a pricing page helps or hurts, and it comes down to one question: is your pricing model simple enough to publish without a caveat?
Where the model is simple, a published price is the strongest differentiator available in this trade, because so few competitors do it. Cleanko is the one template in the Squareko range that ships that page ready to fill.
Where the model is not simple, the alternative is not silence — it is speed. A quote form that returns a real number within an hour beats a published price you have to qualify.
Cost over the life of the site
The template price is the smallest number in this table, which is why choosing on price alone is the wrong exercise.
Two things worth stating plainly. All sales are final on Squareko templates — digital products cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded under any circumstances, which is a reason to walk the demo properly before buying rather than a reason not to buy. And delivery is a Squarespace contributor invitation, not a file download: there is nothing to upload and no FTP step, which is a meaningful difference from most template shops.
What a cleaning template will not do
Three things people attribute to the template that are not the template's job.
No template ships a working quote form. Cleanko's Contact Us page carries a standard four-field form, and every competing cleaning template I have examined does the same. The qualifying fields — property size, service type, frequency, access, postcode — are yours to build. Squarespace's form builder supports all of it, including follow-up questions on dropdown and radio fields, and it recommends staying under 30 fields per form.
No template configures form storage, and an unconfigured form silently fails. Squarespace's own documentation is unambiguous: "At least one storage option is required per form. If you don't select a storage option, the form won't have a place to send submissions, and visitors won't be able to submit the form." New form blocks default to the site owner's email, but a form copied from a demo can arrive without one. Check every form after install.
No template gets you into the local map results. That is Google Business Profile, service-area configuration, consistent name-address-phone data and genuinely distinct location pages — none of which live in a template. The local service business guide in this cluster covers the whole of it.
Choosing, in order
Work it this way: identify which of the four cleaning businesses you are, check the template ships the pages that segment sells from, then check the quote path before you look at the styling. Styling is a Site Styles change in Squarespace 7.1. Page architecture is a rebuild.
If you are a residential or specialist cleaner and want the pricing and service-detail pages already built rather than assembled, Cleanko sits in our premium Squarespace templates range at $249, is installed for you rather than delivered as files — including onto an existing live site, which takes around 48 hours as a manual process — and comes with 60 days of email support. That is worth most when you are launching against a fixed date, like a contract start or the January and September demand spikes.
If your pricing is genuinely bespoke, or you already have a site that converts, a free Squarespace template and a better quote form will get you further than a new design will.
FAQ
-
Squarespace does not sell a cleaning-specific template, though it runs a Cleaning Services solutions page marketing booking, intake forms and recurring invoicing at the trade. Premium shops do: Cleanko is a 12-page cleaning template with Pricing, Service Details, Portfolio and FAQs pages, and several Etsy sellers list 9–10 page cleaning templates around $145–$150.
-
Five: Services with a defined scope, a Pricing page or a fast quote path, an About page carrying insurance and vetting, a service-area statement, and a Contact page with a qualifying form. Add per-service detail pages if you sell distinct specialisms like carpet, window or post-construction cleaning, since each is a separate search.
-
Publish if your model is simple — flat rate by property size, fixed packages, or hourly with the minimum stated. Do not publish per-square-metre commercial rates or bespoke post-construction pricing you would have to walk back. Where you cannot publish a price, publish a response time instead. Most competitors do neither.
-
Yes. Every Squarespace template is included with a subscription at no extra cost, and independent reviewers most often name Oranssi, Radian and Sawyer for cleaning businesses. The trade-off is page count: free templates give you a design, not a pre-built Pricing page, Service Details layout and job-type portfolio.
-
Commercial cleaning is bought on specification and accreditation rather than price, so a construction or agency template usually fits better than a domestic cleaning one. BRIX Construction ships Projects, per-service detail pages and FAQs across 13 pages; Click Crafter suits operators running both domestic rounds and commercial contracts.
-
The template is the small number. Premium Squarespace templates run around $145–$249 one-off, the Squarespace subscription is separate and annual, and installation onto an existing live site is a paid add-on taking around 48 hours. Budget for replacement photography too — demo images are never licensed for live use.
