30 Best Premium Squarespace Templates of 2026 (Reviewed by a Certified Expert)

The short version: Premium Squarespace templates cost $188 to $299 across the established shops, and what you are buying is finished layout work, not extra capability — every Squarespace 7.1 site has identical features regardless of template. The 30 below were scored on five weighted criteria, published in full in the next section, and grouped by the business you actually run rather than by shop.

I am Walid Hasan, a Squarespace Circle Double Platinum Partner with twelve years on the platform and 8,500+ sites built. Squareko, my agency, sells 12 of the 30 templates on this list. That conflict is real and I have handled it explicitly below rather than hiding it.

How these 30 premium Squarespace templates were scored

Five weighted criteria, applied identically to every template regardless of who sells it.

Pass/fail gates applied before scoring. A template had to be built on Squarespace 7.1 with Fluid Engine, carry at least eight genuinely distinct designed pages, publish its support terms, and have a working live demo I could open on a phone. Templates that failed any gate were not scored.

Ratings are judgement, not measurement. Each template carries an overall rating out of 5 in half-point increments, derived from the weighted criteria above. It is a considered professional opinion formed by opening every demo on a phone and a desktop, not a lab result. Anyone telling you they scored a template to one decimal place is telling you something about their marketing, not their method.

The conflict of interest, stated plainly

Squareko sells 12 of these 30 templates at $249 each. Here is how that was handled.

  • The same five criteria and the same four gates were applied to Squareko templates and competitor templates.

  • Squareko templates are not listed first in any category by default. Where a competitor template wins its category, it is listed first and said to have won.

  • Competitor strengths are named specifically, including the ones where Squareko loses. Applet Studio is $24 cheaper per template and has the widest niche coverage of any shop under $250. Big Cat Creative has the best tutorial library in the category and offers support with no stated end date, against Squareko's 60 days. GoLive has 40+ templates to Squareko's 24, and a stronger catalogue for coaches and speakers specifically. Station Seven is a Circle Platinum Partner offering an extended 365-day trial and 25% off the first Squarespace year, which is a better subscription deal than the 20% most partners, including Squareko, pass on.

  • Nothing on this page links to a Squareko product except the single closing link.

What we deliberately did not score

Three things that appear all over this category and were excluded from scoring.

Aggregate star ratings with no named platform. A five-star badge that is identical on every product page, names no review platform, shows no dated reviews and offers no per-template breakdown is not evidence of anything. Almost every shop in this category carries one. None were scored.

Unsourced volume claims. Customer counts and "we analysed N websites" figures appear across the category with no methodology attached, no date and no way to check them. They were ignored.

Page counts taken from marketing copy. Shop listings routinely state a round page count that does not match what the demo actually contains — real counts in this category run from 9 to 15 pages against listings that say 10. Every page count in this article was counted from the live demo navigation, not read off the sales copy.

Quick picks by business type

Best premium Squarespace templates for photographers

Photography templates fail in one predictable way: they are designed around eight flawless hero images and collapse when you load thirty merely good ones. Judge the gallery grid, not the hero.

Category winner: ColorFlick, on page depth. Nothing else in this group ships service-specific landing pages out of the box.

Best premium Squarespace templates for interior design, home and construction

The page type that decides this category is the project detail page. A projects grid is easy. Individual project pages with a brief, process and result are what convert enquiries, and most templates skip them.

For construction and trades specifically, Squareko's BRIX Construction (13 pages, Service Details and Projects) is the closer fit but was not scored here because its published demo link currently returns an authentication error — a fair reason to leave a template out of a list, and worth applying to any shop whose demos you cannot open.

Best premium Squarespace templates for E-commerce and Fashion

The gate here is unglamorous: legal pages. Returns, privacy and terms are a requirement for selling, and most premium templates ship none, leaving you to build three pages before launch.

Category winner: a tie. Pink&Navy on price and product presentation, Styleza on shipping the legal and FAQ pages you would otherwise build yourself. Pick on which of those two costs you more.

Best premium Squarespace templates for agencies and service businesses

One "Services" page listing six services ranks for nothing. This category is decided by whether the template ships individual service detail pages.

Category winner: Josie, on versatility and onboarding. If your budget is the deciding factor, Launch Day at $225 does the same job with less polish.

Best premium Squarespace templates for coaches, authors, speakers and course creators

The deepest and most competitive category in the entire premium market, and the one where Squareko does not win.

Category winner: Amplify (GoLive). Squareko's Storyline has the better page list; Amplify has the better design and a demo you can actually open. Design wins on a page whose job is to be looked at.

A note on course and membership pages: several templates in this category ship pages labelled "Course" or "Booking." None of the shops reviewed, including Squareko, publishes whether those pages use Squarespace Member Areas, Acuity Scheduling or a third-party embed. Ask before you buy if your business depends on it. Do not assume a page labelled "Course" comes with course functionality attached.

Best premium Squarespace templates for health, fitness and wellness

The recurring failure in this niche is burying pricing behind lifestyle photography. Pricing and class pages are what people came for.

Squareko's Shape Matrix (11 pages, Training and Classes pages, Portfolio and Gallery) is the better choice if you run classes rather than one-to-one coaching, and would score similarly to Fit Foundry.

Best premium Squarespace templates for food, property and professional services

Four niches with one thing in common: the template needs to do a specific structural job, and design flourish is worth less than usual.

The shops themselves, compared

Paper Moon Websites is frequently and fairly recommended in this category, particularly for service businesses. It is not in the table because I could not verify its current catalogue and pricing directly at the time of writing, and I do not publish figures I have not checked.

When you should not buy a premium Squarespace template

Four situations where $249 is the wrong spend, from a shop that sells at $249.

Your site is under six pages. Squarespace's free 7.1 gallery is genuinely good at small sites, and the homepage is the page free templates design properly. If you need a homepage, an about page and a contact page, the premium advantage largely evaporates — you are paying for inner pages you will not build.

You have no photography and no budget for it. Every template on this page is carrying its demo imagery, and every one of those images has to go before launch. A premium template with placeholder stock in it looks worse than a free template with three good photographs. Fix the photography first; the template is the cheaper problem.

Your requirement is structural, not visual. Booking logic, tiered membership content, a filtered product catalogue. Templates solve presentation. If what you need is a system, no template at any price on this page delivers it, and buying one delays the conversation you actually need to have.

You are about to migrate a site that ranks. A premium template usually arrives as a new site, and a new site means new URLs. Squarespace never creates an automatic 301 redirect when a URL slug changes. If your existing site has pages earning traffic, the redirect mapping is the project and the template is a detail.

How to apply this methodology yourself

The criteria above are not proprietary. Five checks, ten minutes per template, works on any shop.

  1. Count the demo navigation, not the sales copy. Open the live demo and count the pages in the menu, then subtract anything that is a variant of another page. That is your real page count.

  2. Go straight to the services or products page. Skip the homepage entirely. The homepage sells the template; the inner pages will be your working life.

  3. Open it on your phone, not a resized browser. Fluid Engine keeps a separate mobile layout per section in Squarespace 7.1. A template with a neglected mobile layout is a template you will rebuild.

  4. Imagine your three worst photographs in the hero. If the design still reads as a business you would trust, the design is doing the work. If it collapses, the stock photography was.

  5. Find the support terms before you find the buy button. A stated window with a stated scope — "60 days, email, setup questions" — is worth more than "lifetime support" with no definition of support.

If a shop makes any of those five checks difficult, that is itself a data point.

What actually happens after you buy

Four things the sales pages tend to underplay, true across the whole category.

Delivery is a contributor invitation, not a download. The better shops now build the template on a Squarespace site and invite you as a contributor. In Squareko's own wording: "there are no external files to download or upload, unlike WordPress themes." You will accept an invitation from Permissions & Ownership, and ownership is transferred to you.

Two installation routes, and they are not equivalent. Route one: the shop builds on a new 12-month trial site and transfers ownership, while your existing site stays live throughout. Route two: installation onto your existing site, which is a manual section-by-section rebuild, usually a paid add-on, and typically around 48 hours.

You must replace every demo image. Demo imagery is licensed for the demo, not for your live site. This applies at every shop on this page. Budget photography as a separate line.

Sales are usually final. Squareko's policy is that digital products "cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded under any circumstances," and that is the industry norm rather than an outlier. The practical response is not to complain about it but to use the demo properly first: open it on your own phone, scroll the services page rather than the homepage, and imagine your own worst photograph in the hero.

The template is not the subscription. Every price on this page is for the design only. A Squarespace plan runs from $19 to $99 per month on annual billing and is required separately. Most Circle partners, including every shop in the table above, pass on a first-year discount — ask before you subscribe, because you cannot apply it retroactively.

Which one should you actually buy

Work it in this order. Pick the category that matches your business. Check the top two entries have the page types you need — not the design you like, the pages you need. Open both demos on your phone. Then choose on price.

If the honest answer after that exercise is that no template ships the structure your business needs, a template is the expensive option, and the fuller reasoning is in our complete guide to Squarespace website templates.

Squareko's 12 templates on this list are $249 each, installed by contributor invitation with 60 days of support, and are in the premium Squarespace templates shop. If Applet Studio at $225 or Big Cat Creative's tutorial library is the better fit for you, buy from them — the point of publishing a methodology is that it has to survive being applied to your own work.
