Squarespace Customer Service: How to Reach a Real Human in 2026
Squarespace has no customer service phone number. Support runs through two official channels: live chat, open Monday to Friday from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET, and email, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Both start at the same place, support.squarespace.com/hc/p/contact. Email replies usually land within 12 hours.
That is the short answer. The rest of this page covers the part most people actually get stuck on: getting past the chatbot, what to do when chat is closed, and what Squarespace support will not touch.
Every Squarespace support channel, and when it is open
Channel Hours Best for Live chat Mon to Fri, 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET (English) Urgent problems, billing, anything you need solved now Email 24/7, reply usually within 12 hours Detailed issues, screenshots, non-urgent questions X (Twitter) 24/7 via @SquarespaceHelp Quick questions, outage confirmations Facebook Messenger 24/7 Same as X, if you prefer it Squarespace Forum Always open, community-run Code, CSS, and customization questions Status page Always open at status.squarespace.com Checking if the problem is yours or theirs
Live chat runs in French and German on a shorter window, Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM CET. Australia and New Zealand get 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM AEST, Monday to Friday. Email support covers a much wider set of languages including Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Turkish.
Weekends, live chat is closed everywhere. Email is your only route.
Live chat hours in your time zone
The 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET window is generous, but only if you know where it falls for you. During US daylight saving time (roughly March to November):
US Pacific: 1:00 AM to 5:00 PM
UK: 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM the next day
Central Europe: 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM the next day
India: 1:30 PM to 5:30 AM the next day
Sydney: 6:00 PM to 10:00 AM the next day
Shift each of these back one hour between November and March, when New York moves to standard time.
There is no Squarespace phone number, and the ones you find are not real
Squarespace has never offered phone support. This is deliberate, not an oversight. Their reasoning is that website problems are visual and account-specific, and a written channel lets an advisor look at your actual site, read your error message, and open your screenshot instead of asking you to describe it out loud.
That leaves a gap, and other people have filled it. Search for a Squarespace phone number and you will find third-party sites listing one. Some are lead-generation companies. Some are outright scams that will ask for your login details or your card number to "verify" your account.
No legitimate Squarespace employee will ever call you or ask for your password. If a phone number does not appear on support.squarespace.com, it is not Squarespace.
How to get past the chatbot and reach a person
Every contact route now opens with the Squarespace Support Assistant, an AI chatbot. It handles a lot of common questions well. When it cannot, it hands you to a human, but only if you ask in a way it recognises.
Here is the fastest path:
Click Log In. Logging in gets you routed faster and skips the ownership verification step later. If you cannot get into your account, click I Don't Have an Account and continue as a guest.
Click Contact Us. The Support Assistant opens.
In the message field, type talk to support or just human. This is the shortcut. It requests a live advisor directly rather than cycling you through suggested help articles.
Pick the topic that matches your issue, then choose live chat (if it is open) or email.
Two things that trip people up constantly:
Live chat does not work on mobile. If you are on your phone, you will only be offered email, no matter what time it is. Switch to a laptop or desktop if you need chat.
The contact form does not work in Microsoft Edge. Use Chrome or Firefox. If the form appears to load and then does nothing when you submit, this is almost always why.
You will also need JavaScript enabled and a reasonably current browser version.
What to do when live chat is closed
If it is a weekend or the middle of the night in New York, you have three options, in order of usefulness.
Send an email through the contact form. It is open around the clock and replies typically arrive within 12 hours. This is the right choice for anything with detail, because you can attach screenshots and the advisor can investigate properly before answering.
Message @SquarespaceHelp on X or Squarespace on Facebook Messenger. Both are staffed 24/7. They are good for quick confirmations and for asking whether a problem is affecting everyone.
Check the status page first.status.squarespace.com tells you whether Squarespace is having an outage. If your site is down and the status page shows an active incident, there is nothing to report and nothing to fix on your end. Waiting is genuinely the correct action.
If you cannot log in to your account
This is the hardest support case to resolve, because the security checks that protect your site also protect it from you.
Start with the account recovery form at the login page. Support will ask whether you tried this before they do anything else, so save yourself a round trip.
If recovery fails, the account access request form asks for:
An email address where they can reach you
What happened that locked you out
The URLs of every website connected to the account
A bank statement showing the bank header, the account holder name, and the most recent Squarespace charge
You can black out other information on the statement. Attach it as a .jpg or .png so the reviewer can open it. If more than one site is on the account, include a statement for each charge.
Squarespace will only give account details to the verified account holder. That feels obstructive when you are the account holder, but it is the same rule that stops someone else from taking your site.
What Squarespace support will not help with
This is the part almost nobody knows before they need it, and it is the source of most frustration with Squarespace support. Their team is explicitly out of scope on four things:
Custom code. Any CSS, JavaScript, or code injection you have added is yours to debug. Support will confirm that custom code exists and may tell you it is causing the problem, then stop there.
SEO strategy. They will explain the built-in SEO features. They will not advise you on keywords, rankings, content, or why your traffic dropped.
Tax setup. They will show you where the tax settings are. What to actually enter is a question for an accountant.
Third-party services. They will help you connect or disconnect an extension. Everything past that is the extension provider's responsibility.
If your problem falls in one of these four buckets, you can spend a week in support tickets and get nowhere, because there is nowhere for the ticket to go. Route it correctly instead:
Code and CSS questions belong in the Squarespace Forum's coding and customization board. It is active and the answers are often better than paid help.
Design, SEO, and build work belongs with a Squarespace specialist. Squarespace maintains a Marketplace of vetted Experts.
We do this work at Squareko, so treat that as disclosure rather than a pitch. The point stands either way: knowing which problems support can solve saves you the days most people lose finding out the hard way.
How to write a support message that gets solved on the first reply
Support quality is partly on you. Advisors handle a high volume, and a vague ticket becomes three rounds of clarifying questions before anyone touches the actual problem.
Include all of this in your first message:
The exact page URL where the problem happens, not just your domain
What you expected and what happened instead, in that order
A screenshot as an attachment. Images embedded in the body of an email cannot be viewed by advisors, so attach them as files
The browser and device you are using, plus whether you tested a second browser
Any custom code on the site, and whether the problem persists when you remove it
What you already tried, so nobody suggests it again
Log in before you contact them. If you are working with a domain registrar or email provider on the same issue, log in there too, because the advisor will often ask you to check something on that side mid-conversation.
Following up on a ticket you already opened
For chat: there is no thread to return to. Open the chat icon in the bottom-right corner of any Help Center page and start a new conversation.
For email: reply directly to the existing thread. Do not open a new ticket for the same issue, because it splits the history across two advisors. Search your inbox for messages from Squarespace Customer Care to find the thread.
Note that some Squarespace notification emails come from addresses that cannot receive replies. If your response bounces, go back through the contact form.
The Help Center's My Activities tab, which used to list your open tickets, has been disabled. Your inbox is now the only record you have. Do not delete those emails.
Frequently asked questions
Does Squarespace have a customer service phone number?
No. Squarespace does not offer phone support and has never published a customer service number. Support runs through live chat (weekdays, 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET) and email (24/7). Any phone number claiming to be Squarespace support is from a third party.
How long does Squarespace take to respond to email?
Usually within 12 hours. Response times stretch during high-volume periods such as major product launches and billing cycle dates, when replies can take up to 72 hours.
Is Squarespace customer service available on weekends?
Email, X, and Facebook Messenger are staffed 24/7, including weekends. Live chat is closed Saturday and Sunday in every region.
Can I use Squarespace live chat on my phone?
No. Live chat is desktop only. On a mobile browser or in the Squarespace app you will only be offered email support, regardless of the time of day.
Why can't I open the Squarespace contact form?
The most common cause is Microsoft Edge, which the contact form does not support. Switch to Chrome or Firefox. If that does not fix it, check that JavaScript is enabled and update your browser.
How do I skip the Squarespace chatbot?
Type "talk to support" or "human" into the Support Assistant chat window. This requests a live advisor directly instead of routing you through suggested help articles.
Who do I contact for Acuity Scheduling?
Acuity has its own support team and Help Center at help.acuityscheduling.com. Squarespace Scheduling was renamed Acuity Scheduling, so search under Acuity for the relevant guides.
When support is not the answer
Squarespace support is good at what it covers. Billing, account access, platform bugs, and how-to questions get resolved reliably and by real people.
The problems it cannot help with are usually the ones that matter most to your business. A site that loads slowly. A design that does not convert. Pages that never rank. Custom code someone added two years ago that nobody can now untangle. Those tickets get closed politely and you are back where you started.
If that describes what you are dealing with, it is not a support problem. It is a design and build problem, and it needs someone who works on Squarespace sites for a living.
Tell us what is going wrong with your site and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth fixing or worth rebuilding. No charge for the conversation.
